1971 - 3 guys on a hill
by
Angela Sanders
Here I am on vacation from school somewhere in Wales, wearing a
big hat and thinking about the big time with my friends Don Sanders
(centre), and Dave Woolford, (right). |

Rock Stars -
Tower Theatre
by Randy Armor
"At the Tower Theatre, Philadelphia PA. Taken on the Al Stewart
"Time Passages" tour in Autumn 1978 by Randy Armor. From left to
right: Adam Yurman, Al Stewart, Robin Lamble and PW. Yes we were
rock stars, no doubt about it." |

Rock Star 1 -
Tower Theatre
by Randy Armor
Take a look at the guitar strap- it is an Indian (native
American) belt given to me by my friend Bob Ratliffe. Also check out
the scarf, given to me by a fan which I wore because it made me feel
like Keith Richard. |

Rock Star 2 -
Tower Theatre
by Randy Armor
I'm playing my Gibson Les Paul guitar, the same one that I was
carrying when I met my idol, Jimmy Page (see the FAQs) in an
elevator in Hollywood, CA. He was not carrying his Les Paul guitar
at the time because I'm quite sure he had people to do that for him. |

45rpm - Song On
The Radio
A
similar pose to the 1978 Tower Theatre group shot, and then used
(without my permission...) for a 45rpm single. From left to right-
Adam Yurman, Robin Lamble, Al Stewart and me, PW. I'm amazed that Al
seems to be wearing a tie, something that I don't remember him doing
in almost 20 years of touring. |

On tour with Al
Stewart in San Francisco by Jenny Fung
This photo was taken by Jenny Fung, who I didn't know at the
time, but has since become a great friend and photo journalist. She
keeps exquisite documentation which is why I know exactly when this
photo was taken. April 21st 1981. Thanks Jenny! |

On Tour 1988
Taken at the Roxy Theatre, W.Hollywood, CA in Autumn 1988.
I was on tour with Al Stewart to promote his CD "Last Days Of The
Century". After 12 years with Al I was getting ready to record on my
own. Very soon after this tour I started work on my first CD
"Reveillez-Vous", (means wake up in French). To the right, on drums
and slightly out of frame, is Steve Chapman who became my manager
and still is to this day. |

1988 - University of
Rhode Island by Randy Armor
After the initial trepidation about playing without a band, we
got into the swing of it and these shows became really exhilarating
for me. We were flying by the seat of our pants on most nights
because we never rehearsed the show. The arrangements came out of
playing live. |

1991 - Chestnut
Cabaret, Philadelphia by Randy Armor
"This photo of Al Stewart and I, taken before the the show was
used on the Rhymes in Rooms" CD jacket. I had put duct tape on my
guitar to try and minimize feedback. It didn't do a very good job
and I have since found out that they make inserts for guitar
soundholes that work much better!" |

1991 Chestnut
Cabaret, Philadelphia - Accordion by Randy Armor
"Go ahead- laugh all you want, but I have actually played accordion
on many recordings- not only my own, but with Al Stewart, Basia,
Dave Koz, 3rd Force, and most recently in 2003, Mindy Abair. Check
out "City of Lights" on my Caravan of Dreams CD for some of my best
accordion playing...." |

Belmont Park, San
Diego 1992 by Gary Muterspaw
One of the first shows with my own band. There was a
rollercoaster nearby that clattered by every now and again. Because
of that rollercoaster I learnt that anything that happens during the
show becomes part of the show. So we would stop and get really quiet
anytime it came by. |

This was my 44th birthday and I just felt like reaching out and
touching someone.

May 1998 - Maui Music
Festival by Amy Tanouye
"The Maui Music Festival was always one of the high points of
the year. Held on Memorial Day weekend it is now sadly defunct. Here
I am jamming with Boney James in a photo taken by Amy Tanouye, who
can safely claim to be one of my biggest fans, if not the biggest,
having been to over 100 of my shows. Hi Amy!" |

Summer 1999 German
Tour by Susan Youngblood
" In the summer of 1999 I did a few show in Germany with Rick
Braun. (His German is a lot better than mine!) We had a great time
playing with German musicians and I particularly enjoyed drinking
the German beer! Thanks to Susan Youngblood for putting this tour
together". |

Whalum by Mark Santistevan
Kirk Whalum is one of my very favourite saxophone players. Here
we are jamming together at the Capitol Jazz Fest in Columbia,
Maryland in June 1999. Shot by talented photographer Mark

March 2002 - Cape
Coral, FL by Monalee Humesky
This series of pictures was taken by Monalee Humesky in Cape
Coral, Florida. It was an outdoor show on a beautiful warm night.
Playing with me were Allon Sams, Andre Berry, Clyde Davis, and
Michael Paulo. We drove overnight from Alabama for this show, and I
remember it as one of the most enjoyable shows of the year. The
audience was warm and friendly- I could see the ocean and on such a
beautiful night it felt good to be alive! |

KSBR Bash - May 26,
2002 by Pat Benter
Every year radio station KSBR puts on a show in San Juan
Capistrano CA. Many musicians show up to jam and on this occasion I
sat in with flugelhorn player Tony Guerrero. The band stopped at one
point and I just crouched down and listened as Tony played a
beautiful solo rendition of "America the Beautiful". It was
beautiful. |
